Successful launch of Professor PeRCI, our AI Assistant dedicated to PRCI-related research and projects. Introduced to membership during the plenary session at the TC Meeting in Dallas, Professor PeRCI has already begun transforming how we access and utilize research insights to support the pipeline industry.
The primary objective of the project is to make PRCI research assets more accessible by leveraging cutting-edge AI and a systematic Operational Framework. Here’s what we accomplished:
• Operational Framework Completed: With 1,564 nodes, the framework serves as the backbone for organizing research assets.
• AI-Powered Mapping: We tested AI’s capability to map research assets, utilizing it as a supportive tool in this process. One branch has already been successfully mapped to relevant assets.
• Beta Testing and Enhancements: A thorough beta testing phase ensured the platform was member-ready.
From March through September, the roll-out of Professor PeRCI was refined to efficiently assist members in five key areas:
1. Identifying prior research on specific topics.
2. Providing integrity and safety guidance.
3. Offering technical support and resource access.
4. Highlighting industry best practices.
5. Assisting in drafting RVS documents.
Professor PeRCI is now more than just a tool; it is a resourceful AI Assistant ready to answer technical questions, find relevant PRCI research, and guide members on topics ranging from pipeline operations and innovations to environmental impact and risk management.
With Professor PeRCI currently able to support members and expected to have public access in 2025, the foundation has been set for a future where accessing PRCI research and technical assistance is faster, smarter, and more intuitive than ever before. As we continue to enhance its capabilities and refine the AI-driven framework, Professor PeRCI promises to be an invaluable resource for the pipeline industry for years to come.
